Did some work for Triangle.com this weekend, photographing tailgaters at the NC State football game. I don’t ever have time to do “set-up” at these types of shoots. I just walk around for an hour and a half and try to get as many high-quality shots of partying tailgaters as I can. So there can be a lot of people squinting into the sun, half shadowed by tree leaves, wayward pieces of hair across their faces – although I try to be as cognizant of these things as I can. And I try to use my training and experience to get the best shots I can. Sometimes, there are some really great shots that come out of it, despite the lack of time to do real portraiture set-up and quality checks. Here are a few from this weekend I was pleased with.
