Kate & Amber: A Durham Garden and Gallery Wedding

Last month I was gifted with the opportunity to photograph the wedding of an amazing same sex couple – K&A – who had recently had their legal ceremony in Washington D.C. and were now returning home to Durham to complete the celebration amongst their community of loving family and friends. This was one of the most incredible weddings I have ever had the privilege of attending & photographing.

The ceremony took place in a small private garden on Holloway Street, in the much-coveted Cleveland Holloway neighborhood. I could not imagine a more beautiful setting within the amazing city K&A (and I) call home. It gives Duke Gardens a serious run for its money.

The reception and dance party were at the super cool Carrack Modern Art Gallery on Parrish street, and catering was done by the fantastic Loaf Bakery situated just downstairs.

Every detail of this wedding was perfect, from the gorgeous brides and their fab dresses, to the touching ceremony, the fantastic food, art and dancing, and most importantly, the amazing aura of support that vibrated through the ether and off every wall because of the proud and loving community these ladies have assembled.

It was truly amazing. I hope the images do it justice. Here is just a super small selection of some of my favorites:
